"The CIO was extremely pleased because he felt that Trish not only met their stated needs, but anticipated their needs. They would ask for something and she would have thought about it and already included it gracefully."
"Trish has done a wonderful job in helping the projects to be successful by providing useful, tangible deliverables that development can use, collaborating with the teams about what can be realistically achieved.
Tricia has an amazing ability to take abstract ideas, bits and pieces of information, and poorly defined scenarios and come up with something workable and meaningful for making progress."
"Leading by example, she inspired people on our team to embrace creativity, have fun, and to dress up as cats to make their to-be user story come alive!
We have used this brilliant example of creativity over and over again, including for several external clients."
My journey in design
I began as a technical writer and editor for middleware software. I enjoyed learning about and then describing a variety of technologies. When IBM introduced the role of Information Architect for product documentation, I started organizing our technical information and helping users to find their way around it.
Transitioning to a software design role was natural because I'd been developing skills in user research and user experience. One of my favorite roles was putting analytics in the hands of business users in a variety of industries to solve practical matters such as work order scheduling and event planning.
When healthcare piqued my interest, I earned my masters of management in clinical informatics (MMCi), which is like an accelerated healthcare-flavored MBA. At IBM Watson Health, Merative, and Inovalon I've honed my skills in all aspects of data storytelling while designing analytic software for business and clinical users.
The spacey kid says
Hello
In third grade, I declared my intention to be an artist... if astronaut didn't work out. I'm the creative kid who found engineering, thankful that Design has transformed STEM into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics).
I'm a holistic, multidisciplinary designer, a blend of strategy and execution, according to StrengthsFinder. I enjoy taking projects from concept and research through successful implementation and feedback, coaching and contributing to each activity.
My career has been about helping people to comprehend better, faster, and more delightfully in many media. Needless complexity moves me to action, as does a lack of emotional connection for the user. I seek to design experiences that are simple, informative, and valuable to each user, with a touch of fun and a nudge toward behavior change or action.
